On behalf of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, we would like to welcome you to the 200th anniversary of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah, Georgia. The Irish Catholic community in Savannah have and continue to celebrate the feast of St. Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland since 1824. This year, at 8:00am on March 16th, we begin the day by attending Mass at the Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. All are welcome to attend. While the parade itself is a fun event for the entire community, we keep the foundation of Faith in our hearts as we celebrate this great day and St. Patrick, who spread Christianity across Ireland.

We continue to focus our parade around Faith, family, and friends. We keep faith as the primary reason to celebrate. We put on an extremely family friendly parade on the streets and encourage you to celebrate our culture with your family and friends. Having grown up in this great city of Savannah we would always look forward to seeing all of our family and friends on March 17 and being able to not only celebrate this special day but catch up with all of them. It truly is a special day in Savannah, Georgia

I would like to thank the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Savannah, and all of our local government agencies who assist our committee with all of the events throughout the St. Patrick’s Day season. They provide services to insure that we may all safely enjoy the parade together.

I would like to personally thank my officers and Executive Committee, who put in hours of work to make sure that this day is special to all. Thank you to the general membership of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee for putting your faith in me to serve as the 2023-2024 General Chairman. Thank you to our office manager, Angela Coleman for her hard work and dedication year after year. To my friends and family who have supported me along the way, thank you. Lastly, I want to say thank you to our wonderful boys, Cooper and Patrick and my loving wife, Karen for all their support and encouragement over these last 11 years. I could not have done it with out your support.

Please feel free to join us for some special events leading up to the 200th Anniversary of this wonderful parade. We will be greening the fountain at Forsyth Park on March 8, 2024 at 12:00pm. Our Celtic Cross Mass and ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, followed by a ceremony at the Celtic Cross monument in Emmet Park. On March 15, 2024 at 4:00pm, we will have our Seargent Jasper Green ceremony at Madison Square. The Jasper Green is our salute to the military. We hope that you can join us for our events.

It is my hope that you will come and celebrate our 200th anniversary of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 16th and join in on our Faith and Irish culture. God Bless America, God Bless the Irish, and God Bless us all.
